Rossana Delgado, 37, was murdered in April 2021 at a rented cabin in Cherry Log, Gilmer County, Georgia. She had been abducted from the Atlanta metro area days earlier. The case involves a drug trafficking organization with Mexican cartel ties and remains open with three fugitives at large.

Public Timeline
April 16, 2021 — Abducted from Plaza Fiesta Shopping Mall in DeKalb County.
April 16–19, 2021 — Held at multiple locations in the Atlanta metro area.
April 19–20, 2021 — Taken to the rented cabin in Cherry Log and murdered.
April 20, 2021 (early morning) — Remains discovered by Gilmer County Sheriff’s Office during a welfare check.
Additional Information from Local Sources
- Perpetrators first attempted to dismember the body with a chainsaw in the bathroom (attempt abandoned).
- They tried burning the remains in the cabin’s fireplace (unsuccessful).
- They attempted to burn the body in the fire pit behind the cabin.
- Finally, the remains were placed in a barrel and rolled down the hill into the woods. The barrel traveled only a short distance (20–40 feet) before becoming stuck.
Investigation & Charges
Fourteen individuals were indicted on charges including murder, kidnapping, aggravated battery, concealing death, removal of body parts, and RICO violations.
Current Status (2026)
Ringleader Edwin Murillo and several others received life sentences. Three suspects remain at large:
